Cord has always felt something for Annie, a young widow with a child who works at the local orphanage. Annie is not looking for romance, which makes Cord’s feelings all the harder to deal with. As they both try to recover from the earthquake, they discover a treasure kept at the ranch has been stolen and as they help search for the treasures, they both start to realize some things are more valuable than treasure.
Riches Beyond Measure is the third book in the series by Mary Connealy and it is a great addition to my historical fiction shelf. The ranch was a great setting and the stolen treasure was a great way to move the story at a great pace and keep me engaged. Cord and Annie were a good pair and I liked their sorted romance, but it did take a little while to get behind wanting them to be together. In a way that’s a good thing, it wasn’t a love at first sight and run off into the night together kind of romance. This is a good historical romance and one that fans of the genre will enjoy.
