The Third book in the Undaunted Courage series stays true to the great style of writing fans of Irene Hannon are used to.

Cara Tucker is looking forward to a semester away at a remote country estate with a full library and time to indulge her background as a historical anthropologist. While this might be her dream, it quickly turns into a nightmare as someone does not want her discovering secrets buried at the estate. Sheriff in town, Brad Mitchell has dealt with his fair share of suspicious activities at the estate, but what is happening now is far more than he has dealt with before. Sheriff Mitchell and Cara must work together to discover what secrets someone wants so badly to keep hidden before it is too late.

Irene Hannon has a great way of jumping back and forth between Romantic Suspense and Contemporary without missing a beat. This third book in the Undaunted Courage series is a great addition to her vastly growing library, and one fans of her writing will not want to miss. I loved this story and the way Cara is a very different and somewhat quirky protagonist. A historical anthropologist going to an old estate full of journals and old books doesn’t sound like the start of a suspense mystery but that is exactly what it turned out to be. Both Cara and Brad were great female and male protagonist for a back-and-forth romantic suspense. Even though this is the third in the series it can be read as a standalone novel as well.

I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher.  The views and opinions expressed within are my own.
