A fun change of pace from so many romantic suspense, this was a great adventure from an author I feel is just scratching the surface of her potential.

Luna Rosati has ghosts from her past, the baby she gave up when she was 16 then went off to escape her life in the CIA. Now, almost two decades later she is searching for answers from her past and wants to find the child she lost and see if she can remake her family she thought she lost. Going home to find the man she saw as a mentor, Stryker, and who might just be the only one to help her find her child does not prove as easy as she hoped for. As she is set to meet Stryker, she sees him being taken by masked men. Assigned to not only look for Stryker but also others missing is Corbin King, the father of the baby Luna gave away all those years ago. Together they search for answers to mysteries old and new. As they try to save their loved ones a spark they both thought had flamed out years ago starts to ignite once more.

This is the first full length Kate Angelo book I have read. I know she has written several with Lynette Eason and others, but this seems to be her first big writing venture on her own and I loved it. This story wasn’t at all what I thought it was going to be but in the best way. Luna and Corbin have to tackle crazy tasks in order to save Stryker and try to find the child they thought they had lost forever. The connection an spark between the two of them is immediate in the story and that is what carries it full speed ahead making it a book that is hard to put down. This wasn’t just like all the other romantic suspense novels out there, this one had another level to it and kept me so engaged with not only the characters but the entire story. Angelo came onto the scene with mentors like Lynette Eason and Susan May Warren, some of the best in terms of romantic suspense and now she is finding her own place in this field. I recommend this book to readers that love a great romantic suspense novel with fun characters and fast paced read.

I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher.  The views and opinions expressed within are my own.
